Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas this year. Just thought I would post some pics.

I graduated!!

OH yeah. I finally did it. I graduated from nursing school. I am almost officially an RN.. I still have to take my boards, cross your fingers I pass! I will be starting back up in the fall.. unfortunately.. to get my BSN. I will be doing it all online, so I will never have to step foot on Dixie campus again! wo wo. I signed a year contract with the DRMC, so Nathan and I will be staying in San jorge for at least another year! I was so ready to get out of this town, but ya know.. I would terribly miss my friends and most of all my fam, so I am glad we decided to stay for awhile longer.

Snow in St. George

Nathan and I really REALLY dislike snow. That is why we are living in southern utah and not northern utah... because it RARELY ever snows! So while most people living here are enjoying the puffy whiteness, I have been sulking all day refusing to go out in the horrible freezing cold.. Since Koko is a dog and needs to be taken outside to do his thing... I took him out to our backyard.. while I was standing there shivering, he was having the time of his life!

So since Nathan and I don't have any kids there is really nothing to blog about.. but we have a dog that we treat just like a child... even though my family makes fun of us, but seriously we freaking love our dog!  He is so dang cute how could ya not?!

My BFF Danielle and I were able to go to Boston for the Bo-Sox and Yankees game at the end of July. Fenway was absolutley fabulous! We had such a good time. So now I think I have made it to pretty much all of the baseball fields that I had been dying to see. I would have to say that Fenway is probably the craziest and funniest of all of them. Hopefully we can make it an annual trip. Just thought I would post some pics of our fun trip! I finally made it to Fenway! wo wo

Texas

Nathan and I had to take a quick trip to Austin, Texas for his job. We drove down there and then flew back. The drive was 24 long hours. Driving through New Mexico and western Texas was not fun at all, but when we pulled into Austin we instantly fell in love with the city! It looked like back east with all the trees. It was beautiful. We saw a lot of the city even though we were only there 1 full day. We toured the capitol building, went to a botanical garden, toured the campus of UT and saw the austin symphony in the park. We also went to a cute little Italian restaurant called Romeo's. It was great food with live music. 

So I thought I would never see the day that I would want to live in Texas, but we both totally want to move there! So maybe once I am done with school in December..

Anniversary

Today marks Nathan and I's second anniversary! We have accomplished a lot since being married.. Nathan finished his business degree and is working for an international business company. I got accepted to the nursing program at Dixie and will be graduating with my RN in december! We also acquired a new addition to the Hench home, our little one Koko, who is a 10 month old shih tzu. We have been lucky to travel many places since being married. Nathan travels alot with his job and I am sometimes able to jump on board with him. I am so grateful to be married to such an amazing guy!

Chiiiiiiicaaaaaago

I recently had the oppurtunity to visit the "windy city." The major highlight for me was being at Wrigley Field watching the Cubs vrs. DBacks, even though DBacks lost, I loved every minute of being at the amazing field. Especially when we got to try the Chicago hot dog. It was yummy. They put everything imaginable on their hot dogs.. That is definatley the best part of MLB games. Tony Romo threw the ceremonial first pitch and sung "take me out.." for which he was booed by everyone at the field...Also I strange hooded man jumped from the outfield stands in the 7th inning and just started running around the outfield.. It was hilarious watching the aged security guards chase him down and then just tackle him...

Now for some Wrigley Field history...Wrigley Field is the 2nd oldest major league baseball field behind Bostons Fenway park (which hopefully I will be visiting in October). Some of the historic moments in baseball were at this field such as: Babe Ruth's "called shot" where Ruth pointed to a bleacher location during the 1932 World series and the next pitch he hit a homerun. (I learned all about Wrigley on top of the Sears Tower, for which I could go on & on..) Oh and did I mention what great seats we had-right behind home plate- Thanks Sara and Boo! They are always so willing to hook a sista up! We love them. Trini & I had a blast, but by the end of the week I was more than ready to come home to my husband & child/dog.

Pine Valley

My mom, Nathan, & I recently attended my cousin Rob's wedding at the Pine Valley Chapel. If you have never been to Pine Valley to see this cute chapel I highly recommend it. It was built in 1848 and is one of the oldest in use (that is, people still attend meetings there) chapels in the US. Interestingly, they built the roof top from the bottom of a ship. The same paintings that were there when it was first built are still inside the chapel. Which at first, for me, was shocking because usually you do not see pictures or paintings inside a chapel nowadays. I encourage everyone to go to the historic Pine Valley chapel!

In the Beginning

I was finally convinced by my sisters to start a blog... so here it is.
